the process

1. Start 

We will have a one-on-one conversation to discuss your goals and vision for the website. After having a clear understanding of the project, we assist you with purchasing a domain and hosting provider (if necessary) and can begin designing the site after the initial deposit.

2. Deliver Materials

You deliver all materials needed for the site. Materials include copy content, logo, brand guidelines, high-resolution images (no cell phone), videos, social media links, etc. We will provide direction on what we need.

3. Building the Site

After we have all the content and materials, a website is built to your specifications. All required testing will be completed, as well as a complete SEO analysis (free of charge). This stage takes approximately two weeks.

4. Testing and Final Changes

When the website is ready for review, you will get a link to the website in a testing environment. All changes will be made within a few days, and the website will be complete.

5. Going Live

After payment in full is received, the website will be transferred from the testing environment to a live environment on your domain.

6. Learning

We provide some basic guidance and also provide video tutorials and other information so you can learn the basic step to make updates to your website on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take?

Typically the website will be completed within two weeks after we receive the photography and final copy for the website. We offer rush jobs for a small extra charge.

What type of website is used/created?

We will build a WordPress website using the premium Divi theme by Elegant Themes with lifetime updates ($249 value).

Why not Wix or Squarespace?

Wix and Squarespace have the potential to create a beautiful website, however it does not allow for any backend controls and is not developer-friendly. You have minimal control over your SEO, and most importantly your website loading speed. We recently moved a Wix website over to WordPress and improved the website load speed from 12 seconds to 3 seconds, all while enhancing it, adding more information, and double the amount of images. In addition to that, a WordPress website costs between $30 – $40 annually, where a Wix/Squarespace site costs $150 – $200 per year.

Can you move my Wix or Squarespace website to WordPress?

Yes, we can migrate existing websites for an additional $100 fee.

Where do I buy a domain?

There are many companies you can purchase a domain from; however, we recommend Namecheap. They are one of the cheapest options (typically $8.99/year for a .com domain), and it includes for free privacy protection. This typically costs extra with other providers.

What is hosting?

Your website will be hosted on shared servers. Other companies and people also pay to use these shared servers. The faster the server speed, the better results you will have in loading times, and picking a hosting provider comes down to server speed and customer service. We have worked with dozens of hosting providers and recommend NameCheap for most websites. Entry shared hosting plans start at $16/year for the first year and $30/year after that.
